therapy services in santa fe
My greatest passion and joy is to help people achieve the growth and change that they desire. My goal is for my clients to have greater satisfaction in their lives, feel more alive and present, and be their authentic selves. Together, we delve into the layers of interpersonal, familial, community and cultural relationships that impact all of us and so often post challenges. My approach often encompasses social justice issues — looking at how larger systems, oppression and culture can impact people and create trauma.
Meet me
I didn’t start out as a therapist. I earned my bachelors degree in environmental studies from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and spent years working in the environmental field. My dedication to the natural world sparked a curiosity about how the human body and mind worked together. As I learned more about somatic therapy — which strives for emotional change through both the mind and body — I discovered my passion. I trained in traditional psychotherapy and received a graduate degree in Somatic Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and interned at the Denver Colorado AIDS Project and at Ralston House Child Advocacy Center in Arvada, Colorado. Since 2016, I have been working at a Santa Fe residential treatment center focused on behavioral health, trauma and addiction. I opened my private counseling practice in 2020 and am completing training in Somatic Experiencing, a body-centered form of trauma therapy.
